Barcelona Break records
31st Jan 2011 - Records continue to Tumble
15 Wins in a row and one more win will see Barcelona break the record which was set by Real Madrid in the 1960 - 1961 season. This is quite an achievement and with a win in every away game of the season Barca have now stretched their lead to 7 points in the title race. It is fantastic to watch what is almost exhibition like football although it does make one think that the La Liga title should maybe be given to Barcelona now rather than make them wait until May. Can they be beaten 3 times in the next 4 months? That is what wiill be required if rivals are to have any chance to catch them.
Certainly though it is an excellent opportunity to see one of most outstanding club teams of all time by going to see a game at the Nou Camp. Upcoming games at home in coming weeks include v Athletico Madrid and Athletico Bilbao.
23rd Jan 2011 - Barcelona 3 Racing Santander 0
Many felt that the game was all but decided in the second minute with Pedro taking the lead in front of a 75,000 crowd. A Messi penalty which he put away without any trouble and a second half Iniesta goal saw Barca race to a 28 match unbeaten run of gamees - and with this latest game fiinishing 3-0.
La Liga has very much become a two horse race again this year with Barcelona and Madrid both more than 8 points clear of third placed Villareal. It might already seem as though Barcelona have tied up the league with half the season gone but anything can happen and if you want to see world class football with some of the world top players - we have tickets for all upcoming games!
16th Jan 2011 - Barcelona 4 Malaga 1
Sat only a few points off of the relagation positions in La Liga, and facing the Champions and present league leaders, Malaga were always going to struggle in this game - and so it was.
Playing in front of a 80,000 crowd, Malaga managed to hold on for a total of 8 minutes before succumbing to an Iniesta goal for the home team, Barca. Villa and Pedro in the 18th and 36th minutes pushed Barcelona to a very comfortable 3--0 half time lead and the second half was in effect an exhibiton game. A goal for each side in the second half left the game with a 4-1 finish and with rivals Real Madrid only getting an away draw - barcelona take a 4 point lead at the top of la Liga.
9th Jan 2011 - Deportivo 0 Barcelona 4
Never has a La Liga team had such as impressive away record and the demolition of Deportivo La Coruna was yet another example of the dominance of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the league.
Four goals by four different players also helped to show the class that exudes throughout the team and squad and with goalscorers as Messi, Villa, Iniesta and Pedro - one wonders who can stop to the Catalans. Barcelona next play against Malaga at home on the 16th January. We still have tickets available!
2nd Jan 2011 - Off to a winng start: Barcelona 2 Levante 1
A tougher game than Barcelona have become accustomed to in recent months, with Levante punching above their weight and keping the home side on the run for the full match. A great side though are one who win even on days when they are not so great and 3 points once again went to Barca - keeping pressure on rivals Real Madrid.
Barcelona took the lead in the second half with a 47th Pedro goal, after a goal less first half, in front of an almost sell out crowd at the Nou Camp. Pedro popped up for a second in the 59th minute for another beautifully placed goal and all looked settled points wise. Levante though never crumbled and a Stuani 80th minute reply put the away team within a goal of Barca. Barca held out and and take a 5 point at the top of La Liga.
